As demand for mental health services grows in the Chicagoland region and throughout the nation, Josselyn continues to respond to the need. As part of that response, Josselyn is pleased to announce the hiring of the organization’s first-ever Chief Operating Officer, Laci Gatewood.

Laci began in this newly created role with Josselyn in December 2021. Bringing experience most recently from Illinois Action for Children, Laci is looking forward to helping further shape the future for Josselyn.

“I was really drawn to the opportunity to be a champion of Mental health for all. The team of clinicians and supporting staff at Josselyn is committed to building on Josselyn’s 70-year history as we grow to the future,” said Gatewood.

Her work at Josselyn allows Gatewood to draw on her more than 20 years of experience across a range of disciplines. “The experience Laci brings to the Josselyn team is invaluable. As we continue to respond to the ever-growing mental health needs in our community, Laci will help guide us to consider better systems to more efficiently and effectively pursue our work,” said Susan Resko, Josselyn’s CEO.

In addition to her role with Josselyn, Laci is an authenticity coach and advocate for mental health. She said, “I believe that empowering your authentic self positively improves your life, your family, and your community.”

Laci holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems and Business Management and a Master of Health Administration/Healthcare Administration from National Louis University. She also has a Strategic Leadership and Management Specialization focused on Business Administration, Management, and Operations from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Josselyn is a nonprofit community health provider offering a full range of affordable, effective mental health services including therapy, psychiatry, case management, art therapy, and employment support. Our vision of providing Mental health for all ensures cost is not a barrier to receiving mental health treatment and support. We work with every client to ensure access to care regardless of income and insurance, including a sliding fee scale based on eligibility. Josselyn serves more than 3,600 low-income Chicagoland residents, a number that grows each week.
